St Basil's Live and Work Village - Phase 2
Venue Sponsor
Birmingham City Council
All funds raised at the Birmingham SleepOut will go towards the St Basil's Live and Work Village - Phase 2
The current Live and Work Village - Phase 1, provides accommodation for young workers for under £43 per week, inclusive of all bills. This scheme is open to 16 to 24 year olds in the West Midlands who are employed – and is particularly ideal for apprentices and those on a low income. The scheme is totally Benefit Free, which means that young people get the opportunity to Live and Work without having to rely on welfare benefits.
The accommodation, home to 32 young people, comprises 8 flats. Each flat has 4 bedrooms, with shared kitchen, dining, and bathroom facilities. Progression Coaches offer a bespoke onsite service to the young people living here from Monday to Friday, as well as an additional on-call service should a young person need out of hours support.
Since opening in 2015, this scheme has won numerous awards, including two for NHS partnership work and one for ‘Excellence in Education’, as well as the 2018 National Housing Award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to tackling Homelessness’ and National Housing Award in 2020 for ‘Homelessness Partnership of the Year’.
We are currently working to secure funds to develop phase 2, creating a Young Workers’ Village.

About the evening
By attending the LandAid SleepOut you will gain a small insight into the conditions faced by thousands of young people across the UK every single night. During the event you will hear from the charities and young people that LandAid support.
The events will be open to the elements, so please do come prepared. Throughout the evening we will be serving hot drinks and snacks, but we do ask you to eat a hot meal prior to coming.
