SleepOut 2024

So far, my fundraising for the SleepOut 2024 could provide a safe space for a young person to sleep for:

0

Days

0

Months

On Thursday 7 March, I am taking part in the LandAid SleepOut to raise money to help support young people who are homeless.

In 2022/2023, nearly 136,000 young people approached their council as they were homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The cost of living crisis has had an immense effect on all of us. This has been felt even more acutely by young people facing homelessness. Reports from the charities that LandAid support have mentioned that they're facing not only a homelessness crisis, but a mental health one too.

Young people facing homelessness need our support more than ever.

LandAid bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.

Your donation will help ensure that young people are brought in from the cold this winter.

I'm taking part in the LandAid SleepOut 2024

This Thursday 7th March, accompanied by members of the Howard Group team, I will be joining over 1,000 others across the UK to raise funds to help end youth homelessness by sleeping out for the night in Cambridge (one of 7 locations nationwide).   Cambridge University Rugby Club has once again very kindly agreed to host the event.

Youth homelessness is a real issue in our society, and more often than not one that goes unnoticed.  Last year, 122,000 16-24 year olds reported themselves as homeless or at risk of homelessness in the UK.  This number has risen significantly over the recent years, and with the current economic and social challenges we face, is likely to increase still further.   LandAid works across the property industry amongst many charities who are at the frontline in helping to alleviate youth homelessness.

Funds raised from the Cambridge event this year will be used to help fund a large-scale regional housing project to help young people move-on from homelessness with YMCA Trinity, thus helping them on this first step towards independence and stability in their lives.

We would be very grateful if you would be willing to sponsor the Howard Group team as they brave the elements on 7th March.
If you are willing to do so, please find a link below to the website where you can donate.

All support will be well used to help transform young lives, and I will gladly update you once the event is over and let you know how we have got on.

We do fully appreciate that there are often many calls on all our time and resources, perhaps especially at the moment with issues around cost of living and wider economic uncertainty.  We all get approached for all sorts of worthy causes, therefore please do not feel any obligation.

With grateful thanks for any support.
