Full Marathon (12-12.5hrs, Ascent 1350m)
Starting from Hope (170m), we will make our way up the magnificent ridgeline overlooking the valley and around the southern ridgeline, passing over Lose Hill (459m), Back Tor (403m) and Mam Tor (487m) before taking on Lords Seat(545m). From here we follow the ridge paths on Brown Knoll and over Jacob's Ladder before reaching Kinder Low (633m), the highest point of our trek. Heading East here, we pass the Woolpacks and take in a fantastic view of Edale Valley and Ladybower Reservoir in the distance. Eventually topping Ringing Roger (562m) and then heading down hill towards the historic Derwent Dam. Following the reservoir down towards the Ladybower Dam, where we will cross over and take on the final stretch back toward Hope.
Half Marathon (6.5-7hrs, Ascent: 900m)
Starting in central Hope, we head north through the town and begin our incline up to Loose Hill (459m) onto the ridge in a south westerly direction to Mam
Tor (487m). We will then drop down and pass through the picturesque countryside of Edale where we will stop for lunch and a quick toilet stop. We then begin our steep incline up to Ringing Rodger (562m), the highest point of our trek. From here the rest of the way is a gentle downhill towards the famous Ladybower Reservoir and back to Hope where we finish with a drink in The Old Hall Hotel.
You must prepare thoroughly for this challenge but don’t worry, we are here to help you every step of the way with a kit list, nutrition guidance, training plan and a team of mountain leaders to guide you along the route. Should anyone seriously struggle, we will have additional mountain leaders in place to guide you down the nearest available escape route off the ridge line to a support vehicle in the valley below, but we know you've all got this in you ...as long as you prepare adequately!
Please ensure you are in good physical fitness before you take this challenge on!
Training
For our half marathon trek (21km), we strongly suggest committing to 8 weeks of training. If you are in excellent shape and highly active, the 6-week training plan may be suitable.
