I'm taking part in the LandAid Trek

From 13 - 15 September, I'm taking part in the LandAid Trek 2024.

Last year, almost 136,000 young people approached their local council for housing support. 

That’s why, on Saturday 14 September, I will be trekking across The Black Mountains, Wales to fundraise as much as possible for LandAid, the property industry charity - whose mission is to end youth homelessness in the UK.

LandAid bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing homelessness in the future.

I am aiming to raise £800 for LandAid - this could help fund a safe place for a young person for 5 months. I would really appreciate any donation you can spare so that I can raise as much money as possible for this important cause.

LandAid Trek Complete! 🎉

After signing up late to the LandAid Trek (and by late I mean the week before 😬), there was no time for training but plenty of excitement and enthusiasm for the 27km that lay ahead! 

A team of nearly 50 volunteers from across the property industry plus LandAid volunteers and experienced guides braved the Black Mountains of the Welsh/English border on sunny Saturday 14th September and completed the 27k route to raise funds to help end youth homelessness. 

It was a fantastic day and the celebratory dinner in the evening included a short speech from Helen Mary Jones of Voices from Care Cymru. It was wonderful to hear her heartfelt appreciation and thanks for the £36,000 that is helping to house young people who grew up in care and would otherwise be living on the streets of Wales without the help of such an organisation. 

I loved every minute of the trek but more importantly there’s still some way to go to reach my £800 target so here’s my shameless please to please give what you can. It is very much appreciated and really does help change young people’s lives for the better.
