On Thursday 7 March, I am taking part in the LandAid SleepOut to raise money to help support young people who are homeless.

In 2022/2023, nearly 136,000 young people approached their council as they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. 

The cost of living crisis has had an immense effect on all of us. This has been felt even more acutely by young people facing homelessness. Reports from the charities that LandAid support have mentioned that they're facing not only a homelessness crisis, but a mental health one too.

Young people facing homelessness need our support more than ever.

LandAid bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.

Your donation will help ensure that young people are brought in from the cold this winter.

I have spent a large amount of my life working in the housing and the affordable housing sector, and so this is an issue that is very close to my heart.   

I have hoped a number of my colleagues from L&G Affordable Homes would join me for this sleep out but sadly they are really busy funding, building and managing homes, and looking after our customers.  So they have delegated to me the responsibility of raising contributions and sleeping out in support of LandAid.  

I think I will be on my lonesome for the sleep out, so to support me and this very special cause, please do make a small commitment.  Every penny helps to contribute towards supporting those in need.  Thank you!

Friday 8th Mar
A chilly but rewarding night underneath the stars on the top floor of the Westfield Car Park at White City, London. Over £180k raised by the London sleepers and together across the county over £650k raised. A great result and a long way towards the £800k target for this year.
