On Thursday 7 March, I am taking part in the LandAid SleepOut to raise money to help support young people who are homeless.

In 2022/2023, nearly 136,000 young people approached their council as they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. 

The cost of living crisis has had an immense effect on all of us. This has been felt even more acutely by young people facing homelessness. Reports from the charities that LandAid support have mentioned that they're facing not only a homelessness crisis, but a mental health one too.

Young people facing homelessness need our support more than ever.

LandAid bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.

Your donation will help ensure that young people are brought in from the cold this winter.

By way of update from my last email can I again thank all those who have very kindly contributed to our Fundraising for LandAid 

At Ryden we have raised well over £5k as a team - and across the UK the target of £850K is, I understand, looking achievable.

Your support is greatly appreciated 

The event is now looming tomorrow night.... & suffice to say the forecast is looking pretty much like a typical March night in Edinburgh !

Friday 16th Feb

The Ryden team's Fundraising Page went live this week and I’m really pleased to say we have already beaten our initial target – a big thanks to those who have kindly sponsored us so far!

All funds raised at the Edinburgh SleepOut will be directed to a charity or project(s) supporting young people in the local area. This could be to a charity such as Barnardo’s, who have recently received a grant from LandAid towards the creation of four new build 1-bed Gap Homes for care leavers aged 16 to 26 in and around Glasgow. This is just one example of the difference funds raised at the Edinburgh SleepOut could make to young people at risk of homelessness in Scotland.
