I'm taking part in the LandAid SleepOut 2026

On Thursday 5 March 2026, I’ll be sleeping outside in Birmingham to raise money for LandAid, helping young people into safe accommodation. I will be taking part in the LandAid SleepOut to raise vital funds for young people without a safe place to call home.

My goal is £206 — enough to fund a bed for six weeks.

In 2023/24, nearly 118,000 young people approached their local council because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. Behind every number is a young person facing not only the threat of homelessness, but also the growing impact of the cost-of-living crisis and the mental health challenges that come with it.

Since coming home from travelling, I’ve been volunteering with homeless outreach. What really hits me most is how uncomfortable the general public are even making eye contact with someone sleeping rough. For whatever reason we see people as subhuman, and we judge and walk past.

But if that was me, your friend or your family member on the floor in the rain… you’d help. So why don’t we see others the same?

LandAid brings the property industry together to fund charities providing life-changing services — from safe accommodation to mental health support - for those who are, or who have been, homeless.
